Great piece - my dad never let me win a one on one basketball game against him in my life. I was 17 when I finally beat him fair and square. One of the best days of my life 😂
Haha as the father of two girls I have NO idea what to do. But if they were boys I’d be no different (I think?). In an ideal world you have one parent who tells you “you will always be enough” (I love you no matter what) and another who tells you “but you could be better” (you aint shit until you prove it). At least thats how I see it. Regardless, keep the thoughtful pieces coming!
This just became one of my favorite essays of yours
Thank you fam 🥲

Lmaooo. That's real. Basically a 17 year lesson. Why are dad's like this!? Thanks for reading!

As a father of girls who had a dad of tough lessons I am also absolutely clueless!
Think I'm gonna let my wife do the tough work and be the lovey doting father (that is until boys enter the picture, of course).
Bro, this touched me in ways I didn’t know it would. Felt like you were writing to me and for me- thank you.
This is good stuff. Thank you for sharing your work Cole!
Thanks for reading, my guy!
